Warranty & Complaints Policy – Sahelo.de
1. General Warranty Information
On Sahelo.de, selected partner companies (hereinafter referred to as “sellers”) offer new and used automotive parts.
- New products generally include a 12-month warranty, unless otherwise stated in the product description or by the seller.
- Used products are inspected and verified as functional but are sold without any warranty, unless explicitly agreed otherwise.
The exact scope, duration, and conditions of any warranty are defined solely by the respective seller and form part of the individual purchase agreement.
2. Warranty for Transmissions, Transfer Cases & Differentials
For certain drivetrain components such as transmissions, transfer cases, and differentials, sellers may offer an extended warranty.
Typical warranty terms (if provided by the seller):
- 12 or 24 months warranty, or
- up to 30,000 km, whichever occurs first
The applicable warranty terms are specified individually for each product and seller and may vary accordingly.
3. Conditions for Warranty Claims
A warranty claim is only valid if all of the following conditions are met:
- Installation is carried out professionally and in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer’s instructions
- Installation is performed by a qualified professional workshop
- The customer ensures the workshop has the necessary skills, tools, and equipment
- All installation and maintenance guidelines are strictly followed
Work performed by private individuals does not qualify for warranty coverage.
4. Complaints & Warranty Procedure
- Complaints must be reported to the seller immediately after a defect is detected
- In the event of a suspected defect, the vehicle must be removed from service immediately to prevent further damage or safety risks
- Any further steps (e.g. return shipment, inspection, transport method) must be approved in advance by the seller
Costs for removal, shipping, or reinstallation will only be reimbursed after the complaint has been approved and only if the seller explicitly provides for such reimbursement.
5. Warranty Exclusions
The warranty does not cover defects or damage resulting from:
- Negligence or abnormal use
(e.g. racing, excessive load, towing beyond approved limits) - Incorrect installation
- Damage caused by other defective vehicle components
- Use of non-approved oils, fluids, or materials
- Vehicles deviating from the original manufacturer specifications
(e.g. engine tuning or performance modifications without written seller approval) - Repairs, modifications, or alterations carried out by unauthorized third parties during the warranty period
6. Recommendation for Automatic Transmissions
To ensure long service life and optimal shifting performance, it is recommended that:
- Automatic transmission fluid be replaced every 50,000 km
- For vehicles frequently towing heavy loads, replacement should occur every 30,000 km
Failure to follow these recommendations may affect warranty eligibility, depending on the seller’s warranty terms.

- Review and process complaints and warranty claims
- Decide on repair, replacement, or refund according to their warranty policy
- Comply with all applicable legal and consumer protection regulations
Sahelo.de Responsibilities
- Provide a secure, functional, and user-friendly marketplace platform
- Assist, where possible, in resolving disputes between buyers and sellers
Buyer Responsibilities
- Follow installation and usage instructions
- Use qualified professional workshops
- Report defects without delay
- Provide all relevant documentation (invoices, workshop reports, certificates, etc.)
8. Final Provisions
Sahelo.de is not the warranty provider and is not a contractual party to the sales agreements. All warranty and complaint claims must be asserted directly against the respective seller.
